Docker Compose
A local evaluation stack. Clone/build can execute real repository code. Host systemd, Nginx and TLS activation require the Ubuntu helper.

Get the audited source
Clone v1.0.0 into a new directory and create the local configuration.
git clone --branch v1.0.0 https://github.com/raptercode/dashboard-portal-control.git cd dashboard-portal-control cp .env.example .env - 02
Set your password and encryption key
Paste the generated value into HOSTMGR_SECRET_KEY. Set HOSTMGR_ADMIN_PASSWORD to a unique 12+ character password. Save .env and keep the demo defaults.
openssl rand -base64 32 nano .env - 03
Start the container
Compose builds with Node 24 and keeps state in the hostmgr-data volume.
docker compose up --build -d docker compose ps - 04
Open and verify the dashboard
Open http://localhost and complete account setup. Check health in another terminal.
curl -fsS http://localhost/api/health
Back up HOSTMGR_SECRET_KEY together with state. Never commit .env or replace the key after saving encrypted data. Local HTTP demo settings belong on a development machine.
Stop, restart, and recover access
Stop without deleting the data volume. Do not use down -v unless you intend to erase demo data.
docker compose logs --tail=100 hostmgr
docker compose down
docker compose up -d
